Dr. Spencer is an internationally recognized expert in skin cancer treatment and dermatologic cosmetic surgery. He completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, a highly specialized technique for the treatment of skin cancer that allows the highest cure rates possible. Acne scars are a difficult reminder of our skin’s unfortunate past. These marks are left behind following an acne breakout. Acne pimples cause injury deep into our dermis, and as our skin heals collagen is left behind which can result in a scar. There is very little one can do to prevent acne scarring other than to attempt to control their active acne. There are new developments, however, which can treat acne scars and improve their texture.
