    From laser treatment to topical products, the best course of action if you are considering acne scar treatment is to consult with a physician who has access to all of the various treatments available. This will give you the best range of options and you are more likely to be satisfied with your results.

    Experience is Important

    You also want a physician with the credentials and experience treating acne scars your particular case requires. Be sure to ask questions and request before and after pictures.

    Pre-Treatment Questions

    So I would ask 'what treatment options are available to me?' Also, 'are there alternative treatments which may be as or more effective than the one you propose?'

    Several other questions I would ask are:

    • Do you need to prescribe any antibiotics or other prescriptions for my active acne?
    • What kind of laser are you going to use?
    • How much experience do you have with treating acne scars?
