I had pretty bad acne scarring on my face. It wasn't so much that I had a lot of indentations or pits, it was a lot of redness and discoloration. Make up can only do so much, and I really didn't have time in my life to do a full make up regimen every morning. I went in for 3 laser treatmetns, and I am noticing that with each one, my skin is looking a lot better. I don't think that I will ever look like someone who has never had acne, but at least this way I don't look like someone who had really bad acne.

After the 5 treatments and waiting a whole year to see if any improvement happened, it didn't. My face still looks the same and there is still the few scars that I have that were not even too deep to begin with.

I had seven fractional (Palomar) laser skin treatments, the most recent with the newest handpiece Palomar makes for non ablative resurfacing. I am 60 years old and had severe, scarring acne well into my 40s. The pain was strong but tolerable, and well worth enduring! I still have some pitting, but will wait several months to decide whether to have another treatment. The difference is amazing!

I had very bad acne which started when I was 14 - I am now 24 and still get some spots which leave new scars. It got really bad at the end of 2002 and beginning of 2003 and left me with a variety of different types of scars, some quite big. I have also got blackheads around my nose area. I felt so terrible in 2005 that I had 12 sessions of microdermabrasion. This made my forehead a bit smoother and got rid of the blackheads, which have now come back. Last year the clinic I went to in 2005 offered me a free trial of the new MOSAIC FRACTIONAL LASER treatment. I only had the free session as I couldn't afford to pay for any more. It didn't make the slightest bit of difference to my scars at all. This makes me think that even if I did pay for more laser treatments it wouldn't really help. However the treatment itself didn't hurt much at all. I feel very self conscious about my crappy skin and am hoping to find a treatment that will restore it properly. I am quite good looking but my pitted skin has really detracted from my appearance and depresses me no end. It really does reduce my enjoyment of life and I have to keep telling myself that it could be a whole lot worse - which it could.
