I had pretty bad acne scarring on my face. It wasn't so much that I had a lot of indentations or pits, it was a lot of redness and discoloration. Make up can only do so much, and I really didn't have time in my life to do a full make up regimen every morning. I went in for 3 laser treatmetns, and I am noticing that with each one, my skin is looking a lot better. I don't think that I will ever look like someone who has never had acne, but at least this way I don't look like someone who had really bad acne.

I have been suffering from acne since I was 14. As I grew older, the scars became more and more noticeable until I finally decided to do something about. As I became more aware of myself, I realized that I was actually feeling self conscious around guys because of that. One of my friends suggested I should try a laser treatment. I used to buy all kinds of creams and lotions, but none of them worked long-term, they all would make my skin look fresher for a few days and then it was back to the same old discolorations. After my first visit, I wasn’t very happy, because I didn't see a huge difference and it took me a few days to heal after the treatment (it was pretty uncomfortable, although I had numbing cream). I’m optimistic though and the doctor told me that after a few more sessions my skin would look much healthier and radiant. I hope he's right.

My acne scars have always been a problem for me and I have tried many different creams and lotions but with no lasting results. My friend told me about this laser acne scar treatment and what can could do for me. I made up my mind and scheduled an appointment with a doctor. After the first two visits I saw some results, but not really what I expected. I mean, I know that scars cannot just disappear, but I guess I had some false hopes. My skin is indeed smoother but not all scars were gone,. My doctor told me I needed two more sessions, before finally reaching the best possible results. I'm having mixed emotions about it, but I think that I will go through with it and see.

I am 52 yo fair skinned woman. From the age of 16 through 23 I had severe acne. (Acne Vulgaris) It left my skin scarred and discolored. As you age the scarring becomes more pronounced.
Some treatments stop the acne, but do not address the scarring. Nonablative laser resurfacing addresses the scarring. I had my first treatment in October. I didn't see much difference, but I decided to give it one more try. In December, I had a second treatment. It is now April and I have noticed significant results. These results first became noticable in February.
Why so long? Laser works under the skin. It rebuilds collegen. This takes time. What you may see early after the treatment is swelling.
What have I noticed? In the crater scarring a significant decrease in depth. Almost all of the smaller ice pick scars are gone. Ladies it also works on wrinkles and freckles. I have noticed that the deep folds that run from my nose to my mouth have been diminished. The "11s" at the top of my nose has also been reduced significantly.
Although you can return to your normal duties within three days, I would give it at least a week.
Will I do it again? Yes. Yes. And again yes. I plan on having one more full face treatment and one spot treatment for cleanup.
Why so long between treatments? Due to recovery time and my hetic schedule the winter months work best for me. I can recover over the holidays and return to work with no one the wiser.
This treatment is not a quick fix. Your scars will not magically dissappear in two days. It takes time, but the wait is worth it.

I had one fraxel laser treatment done 2 months ago. I have some pitting scars and I want to try to smooth them out as much as possible. Two months post, and I am starting to break out even more, but I feel that it is due to stress. Now I have to wait to have anymore done until my acne is cleared. So far, I have not seen much of a difference, but I only had one done. I am considering asking about the pearl laser since the doctors office has that option as well.
